English Overview

werk, bauen + wohnen is one of the major technical magazines for architecture and urban-planning of German-speaking Europe looking back on a long and rich tradition. It critically and competently discusses and analyzes the relationships between architecture and its related disciplines, particularly however focuses on Switzerland in an international context.

In addition to a first part, as a rule focussing on a specific topic, Forum comments and discusses current decisions by competition juries, presents smaller new buildings and interior-architecture and design projects as well as issues touching upon the profession as such and construction laws. werk-Material synoptically and practice-oriented documents two buildings based on comparisons with relevant reference values.

werk, bauen + wohnen is published 10x a year, comprises about 80 pages, is generously illustrated by colour pictures and also presents French and English summaries of the most important contributions. To read original texts in foreign languages translated into German, cf.: Original Texts
